Big kudos to Nkrumah on his impressive finish at the Atlantic City Ironman 70.3. Despite torrential rainfall, he shaved off 32 minutes from his race the previous year, finishing in 6:48:20. Great job! Congratulations to Yigit on running the Fahnestock 50k ultramarathon! This technical and rocky terrain has to be seen to be believed. Roula closed out the NYS Park Summer Run Series at Jones Beach with a 2AG. The Club had an impressive turnout at Tour the Catskills. Edgar won “King of the Mountain,” by crushing the “Devil’s Kitchen Climb” at Tour the Catskills, a 75-mile, 6200 ft elevation gain ride. The Tuesday morning track crew always gets the work done, rain or shine… …and the Tuesday evening track group is unstoppable, even in the summer heat. Some of our members honoring the memory of Terry Bisogno, the beloved Voice of the Long Island Running Community, at the Eisenbower Park Summer Series. Another fantastic turnout for the Somerset Brewery Social. We’ll be back! Club members donated generously to Phoenix House, a substance abuse recovery program with clients participating in Run for Your Life, a race on Randall’s Island. More Club donations for Phoenix House. A fantastic turnout at Belmont! Cycle Bar Garden City was a huge success! Big thanks to the kind staff and our amazing instructor Katie for a fantastic workout.
